Teacher Gave Me an Apple!
Characters: Loki [open]
Date: December 15, 2012 and beyond
Format: Whatever you like
Content Warnings: none for now
Summary: Loki is giving out apples. But these apples are infected with a magical retrovirus that is causing everyone to speak the language of the Æsir.
It would be worth noting that even if they looked like apples and tasted like apples, they weren't really apples. Loki had taken one of the local fruit and among other things had enchanted it to look like an apple. Now he had set himself up on a street corner with a stand that said, "Apple 5 Guilder". It was definitely a good price for a piece of fruit.
It just so happened, though, that everyone who ate one, was stuck speaking a language that only Loki understood. After all, it wasn't like anyone else spoke Ancient Scandinavian, or rather Æsir.
Luckily for you, your body should fight the virus off in a couple of weeks and you might just gain a new language skill out of it, depending on how easily you learn languages.

will it affect typing too? or just spoken language?
See, Chandra stole things just for the thrill of stealing. She never particularly needed the things she stole. Even here she had two roommates way older than her who provided all the things she needed, like food and clean clothes and stuff. If anybody asked, she was never able to explain why she stole things. It just happened.
And after a month of not stealing anything, Chandra was starting to get that itch again. She had been trying not to, because she knew she was being watched by that orb and she didn't want to go to jail, especially since she was sure this place didn't have a Juvenal hall. But soon it got to be too much for her to handle, and she stopped thinking about the consequences.
Which is why she tried to discreetly steal an apple from Loki's stand. It was just an apple, so she figured she would get in a lot less trouble for it if she was caught. After all, who cared about one apple?

Loki actually didn't mind the fact that one of his apples were stolen. The whole reason for the low price was to get people to eat them. But still, it intrigued him to find such a young thief.
"Most people would find that troubling," he said. Of course, it was actually English, he wouldn't switch over until she ate the apple.

At that point Chandra had slipped the apple into her jacket and had started to walk away, but she stopped suddenly when Loki spoke up. Damn. Caught already. She really needed to get back in her game, it was shameful for her to be caught so easily.
Sighing, Chandra pulled the apple out of her pocket and held it out to Loki. "I was just borrowing it," she grumbled, as if such a defense would make Loki not report her for being a thief. Nevermind that it made no sense at all.
Normally she would have just run off with it, but this guy had an orb too, so he had to be a newcomer. As weird as it was, she felt like she had to be nicer to the newcomers, like they had some kind of bond or something.

Chandra was still acting grumpy, even though she was clearly not getting in trouble for this. Which was kind of odd, to be truthful. Usually merchants got all pissy with her when she stole from them. Maybe Loki was just a nice guy.
And since he was offering, Chandra took that apple. Then she ate it right there, because why not. As she ate it, though, she spoke to Loki. "So...you're not turning me in?"

Then she got an idea. "Say, if you're just gonna give 'em away, can I have a few more? There's a guy I know, he'll make pies out of 'em if I ask him."
Possibly. Chandra was pretty good at goading Haruki into cooking things.
