Characters: Edd (
itsaprototype), Martin Septim (
septim), Signless (
ironbound) and Disciple (
whomheloved)[CLOSED]
Date: A short time after this thread.
Format: Prose
Content Warnings: Possible mentions of Signless' torture? Will edit otherwise as necessary
Summary: Signless (and Di) at long last moving into Signless' allocated room and meeting his roommates.
Convincing Signless to wait for her to return to him before attempting the trip to his new hive had taken a while - and yet Disciple knew that it had been much easier than if he'd been feeling himself. It pained her every time she looked at him and saw how badly his ordeal had scarred him, mentally and emotionally as well as physically. As deep as the burn scars on his wrists were, the pain he'd been through ran a lot deeper.
His wrists were bandaged but thankfully healing extremely well considering what he's been through. His dreams have been wrought with memories of torture and the deaths of thousands and his waking hours were burdened under the weight of guilt and the belief that the fault lay solely on his shoulders. Certain sounds made him jump and grow defensive, yet Signless fought to keep his calm and a smile on his face, small and weary but a smile none the less.
And so Di had been making herself smile for him too, her hands gentle as she supported him during the walk to his new hive, trying to get him to lean on her as much as he needed to - and knowing he'd always take on more of the burden than he should. But with a few stops to rest they finally made it there, and her arm around his waist tightened just the slightest bit as she knocked on the door, hoping that at least one of his roommates would be in.

Sorry this took so long, had to work out the logistics of his last log!
"Sorry I took so long," he says, rubbing the back of his neck in a sheepish gesture. "Please, come inside."
LOL EVERYONE GOT MESSED UP BEFORE THEY EVEN MET
Careful, right this way....
[There isn't much in the way of furniture in the apartment--such to be expected--but Eddward does pull a very nice chair from somewhere and sets it before the Signless. It has "chair" labeled on one of the armrests.] Do sit down for a second. I've got a nice soup for all of us! Rich in fiber, irons, and plenty of broth.
[It probably tastes ok, too!]
WHOOPS
It was too much to take in all at once, far too much.
He wore his hood up out of habit, cloak pulled tight around him. Walking through the town here was so strange, if only because it's been so long since he could walk in such a public place. Signless finally lifted his head as the door opened, bright red eyes peeking out from the shadows. He nodded to Martin, "A pleasure to meet you again. Properly."
Though he didn't expect Eddward to be so young. A child alone without his lusus, it must be so hard for him. He was going to speak again when the boy appeared with a chair, and he was confused by the label. A human custom perhaps?

The labeled chair does get a laugh from her, though. "Thank you! That's very kind of you." And she urges Signless to take a seat and rest, sure that the walk through the town has tired him more than he's letting on.
...or perhaps she's just fussing. Either way, he's going to be taking that seat if he doesn't want her to fret over him the rest of the day.
careful, this notice bot doesn't send emails unless you're the one I'm directly replying to
Oh, uhm, you brought someone you know? Splendid, splendid! Err, make yourself at home, I suppose! [A rare source of energy and spirit, something not usually expected of him.]
I've also compiled many books from the library here on all sorts of studies. Although frankly, we haven't been able to read many until now, have we? Heh heh....
[Eddward was recently run over by an invention of his that was made to be a ride-able cleaning machine. His clothes have been spotless since. He hasn't suffered any sort of damage, either.]
[To the lady.] And you are, Miss...

Preferring the comfort of the couch as opposed to the roughness of a chair—his body feels sore still—Martin sits down, waiting for everyone else to make themselves comfortable.
To Eddward: ] I'll be fine. I've already eaten. [ Nearly half the refrigerator. Damn his dragon-like appetite. ]

...indeed.
[This will be an interesting stay.]
Nonetheless, I've taken careful consideration towards our future, erhm, "budgeting". No need to worry!
[lol]
And I, for one, am quite confidant in the progress we've already made in striking it out in this town. [He says so because he still has not yet encountered that rather unique "Shiki" woman...]
omg i thought i replied to this days ago
he offers his companions a pointy toothed smile, hesitating a moment before taking his hood down. instinct was still telling him to keep hidden the red color of his eyes, but these people have been nothing but kind=-
This is my Disciple. -=he mentions to Edd and gives the woman's hand a gentle squeeze=- I would have mentioned that she would be joining me, but I didn't know that myself until I was about to leave.

You can call me Di if you like. [Her voice is soft and gentle and she holds on to Signless' hand even when she takes a seat on the ground next to his chair, leaning against him.] I'm sorry to show up uninvited, but I couldn't let Signless wander around on his own when he's still healing. There are people here who...aren't fond of him, I'm afraid. [Who'd threatened to kill him, actually, but she doesn't want to panic the young boy.]
