Crab Sticks
Characters: Lancer (AU), Feferi Peixes (AU), OPEN
Date: Saturday, August 25th (Evening) 2012
Format: Action!
Content Warnings: PG-13, Violence/language.
Summary: Lancer and Feferi smash a giant crab and the latter attempts to eat it all! Will be open for anyone who wants to eat!
[So far, Lancer had felt more home wandering the shores of the Teyn and trying to angle gigantic fish in the depths of the lake. For the most part despite his comfort and feeling of familiarity with the dangers of the locale, he felt remarkably bored.
So, he took a nap by the shore, the two familiars that had come with him curled up at his sides, though remaining silent. They didn't often sleep as they were utilized primarily for the sake of guarding their master, but without her around--they fell to working for the Servant, instead. He couldn't complain that they were only begrudgingly obeying him. For the moment, he was warm and could sleep out in the open.
Until, of course, a gigantic crab monster burst out of a stone column just down the shore, waking him up.]
...Ah?

...Ah?

The guy was used to waking up to enemies. He looked a little bit more surprised at the sight of the young lady randomly appearing out of his radar, gawking towards her.]
Who're you? [There was a rush of sand and wind as the crab hit the ground, dead.]
no subject
What's your name? [Were this an anime, the "!" would pop above her head right now.] Oh, and your doggies' names, too. [She seems pretty serious about this question, despite her carefree, friendly approach.]
[She looks towards the fallen GIANT ENEMY CRAG for a moment or two, having been tipped off to its impact. Her superhuman hearing certainly made it as obvious as if she was standing right next to it when it happened.]
no subject
Oi, oi. You shouldn't be around here, missy. It'll be a pain if I've got to watch after people while I'm out on a hunt.
[Finding his manners after a lengthy pause, Lancer huffed.] --Lancer. The hounds don't have any names, actually... So, if you'll tell me what you're doing out here...?
no subject
I was just felt like taking a walk. I mean, I 'was' flying for a bit before I landed a minute ago. [Her smile turns neutral as she tilts her head.] What was it you were hunting? That GIANT ENEMY CRAB? Or is it something more rare, like a small, golden colored beetle?
[Kneeling down, she is greatly taken by the pair of hounds near Lancer even though her attention is currently on him.]
no subject
Especially not with a lady present. Letting familiars do as they pleased was downright foolish.]
Flying... [The ridiculous people he was meeting...]
Yet, you should have seen this was a pretty lousy place for a walk. [Lancer turned over his hands, his spear manifesting in his palms before he twisted it and swung it through the shell of the crab, splitting it down the middle.]
'Hunting' as a sport doesn't typically come with a general target. In practice, it's more fun to have low expectations.
no subject
[She stands and stretches.]
That GIANT ENEMY CRAB wasn't very tough...or maybe, you're just really strong? I've never seen someone use a lance like you do--[She gets it.]--Oh! Is that why you're called "Lancer"?
no subject
[Dusting himself off due to the copious amounts of sand--Lancer looked aside as Feferi took down another crab a ways off.]
I'm a bit of an oddity when it comes to lances and just the same, I ain't gonna make any claims about my abilities. But, you're hitting the right spot--generally, this weapon is why I'm called 'Lancer'. My real name ain't something for a first-time meeting, sadly.
no subject
I see....I've done a lot of camping in the wilds, too. Say, do you need any help cooking the GIANT ENEMY CRAB? [Sees.] I mean both of them. That doggie of yours is very strong too.
no subject
Lancer yelled at the former Heiress all the same.]
Tcch.
I gotta check it out, first. You don't just eat any ol' monster, missy. [Lancer ran his fingertips through the air, drawing up a series of runes in front of the crab. He was going to burn it--just to see if anything that came out of its flesh was noxious.]
Why are you callin' them that, anyway?
continuity, like crabs, is punched in the snout
But as the gigantic crab monster wrecks shit, there was a reason it was in such a foul mood. That reason is a tiny seadweller latched onto one of it's claws, her fingers digging into the joint. Her formidable strength is giving it a hell of a time.
With a horrific tearing sound, a claw goes flying off as the marauding beast flails.
Claw meat was the best meat, right? ]
Pchooooo!
and then lancer was morally confused
And even then, most Heroes or Spirits would have fought with weapons and not their bare fingers.]
Oi, oi! If you're gonna kill that thing--do it quick and don't make a mess!
no subject
It starts to crack under the force of the blow. It makes absolutely no sense how something so tiny can be so fierce, but there she goes. ]
Shore am workin' on it!
no subject
He imagined it would have looked more familiar if he could see himself in his childhood.]
Tcch. You're gonna ruin its meat that way--especially if it's actually edible! [Lancer ran his fingers through the air, casting Ansuz runes over his own kill, roasting it with magical flames.]
no subject
It just so happens that it isn't a good one. The crabs in this world are a mite more healthy than their counterparts on her Alternia. But she's got its carapace cracked enough to squirm one little arm in under the shell and wreak havoc on its assorted nervous system related organs.
It shrieks in a distinctly giant monster sort of way before collapsing and sending her tumbling horns over heels. ]
Ain't all that ruined, I'm thinking! Hello there, human!
[ She beams over at him proudly. ]
no subject
Even after we touched on deceiving appearances, you think I'm human.
[He smirked suddenly, reaching over and drawing his spear up after his own crab finally stopped stumbling. It fell, smashing into the sand and sending up sheets of of it as a result. Lancer was suddenly clutching his spear once more as it drew up in a bolt of red lightning.]
--Still. Did you chase it down or did it wake you up, too?
no subject
Startled me out of nowhere, it did.
[ And there's that claw she was looking for. She picks it up and drags it over so she can perch on her kill happily, and promptly bites right into the shell to break it open.
Hey, it's a good source of calcium! ]
no subject
Hold off, don't try and eat it right away. [He then directed his fingertips to the open air in front of a stack of driftwood hanging on the side of the scene, calling the 'Ansuz' rune, which immediately ignited all of it in a tall flame.]
Cook the potential toxins out of it, missy--before you dig in.
no subject
What toxins? Water's clean as rain here, conch you tell? An' how'd you make all that fire, huh?
[ But that's really just the petulant fussing of a childish fish girl, because she hugs the claw to her chest so she can hop off the corpse and take it over to the fire. It can roast a minute or two, she supposes. ]
no subject
Water can be clean all it wants, but some beasts I've seen could turn everythin' in their body into poison at will. It's always good to try an' boil everything out of it. Anyway, no fussin'. It always tastes better cooked.
