Ooh shiny! [COMPLETE]

Characters: England, Prussia
Date: September 8
Format: Prose
Content Warnings: most likely swearing, also Prussia in a dress.
Summary: England plans on going on a quest to find a gem, since he is a pirate. Prussia invites himself along. They can't stay away from each other, apparently, even though they are enemies. 8I

True to his own determination, England had decided to take on a quest in hopes of raising some money to have his own apartment. It was not that he disliked his roommates, but they were both girls. Besides, England preferred to live alone. Living in such close quarters with two girls made him uncomfortable.

Of course, there were other reasons why he wanted to get his own place, but he felt that he'd keep those a secret. Even he was disappointed in himself for those reasons.

In any case, he was signed up to find a gem in the gnome district. It was part of some wedding ritual, but the best part was that he would get a gem of his own, and he wanted it, regardless of how much it was worth. He could not escape his pirate lust for treasure, so having a gemstone would make him feel happy. He wondered where he would hoard it...

England began his journey to the Gnomish District. He had to go quite a ways, through the upper class neighborhood. That would be alright. He could scope out the area, see if he could find any of the government officials to talk to. He was pretty excited about this quest. He hoped it went smoothly. Now that his injuries were pretty much healed, he didn't think he'd have too much of a problem.

Ah, delicious treasure!

Prussia was leaving the government offices, to head home after work, when he spots a somewhat familiar head of blond hair. He considers his plans for the rest of the day, then discards them in favour of following after said blond man. As the crowds thin out through the upper class neighbourhood, he sees that, indeed, it is England. With a smirk, he lengthens his stride, catching up to the other nation.

Unless England dodges, he slings his arm around the man's shoulder. Looks like England found a government official, if by official he meant presently low-ranking paperwork bitch. "So, what brings you here?"

"Busy? Doing what?" He hasn't checked the quest boards lately, otherwise he'd see what England had signed up for. Probably for the best. He'd only invite himself along that much sooner. "Is it awesome?"

Oh England. You poor fool. You poor, poor fool.

Prussia visibly perks up at the look on England's face, and his words just seal the idea forming in Prussia's mind. "A quest?! An awesome one? I'm coming with you then!" Because whilst paperwork may help with his goals here, it is dreadfully boring and he needs something fun to do with his time off. So why not help England with this fantastic quest?

Except... "Uh, but what are we questing for?"

He almost pouts at England's demeanour. Really. Pinky up and everything. What is he going to do with you, Arthur? "But mine is boring and I'm done with it for today!" Come on, England, don't you want company?
garantundkraft: (Es ist egal)

"But I have plaaaans! I need this job!" Yes, he is being petulant in the middle of the street. Fight him. Except don't, because that might make some officials unhappy or whatnot. "It's not my fault none of the awesome quests are ones I can do for a living. For one, I need to find someone who can craft bullets before I do any hunting. I may as well just go out and buy a sword..." Huh. There's an idea.

"Kesesese~! AWESOME! So, what are we doing?" Oh, come on. Like England didn't see the quests for hunting down monsters outside of the city and whatnot. That's what he'd need some sort of weaponry for, and definitely not any kind of governmental coup.

Besides, if England's supposed to be avoiding Prussia to keep them from fighting, he's been doing a horrible job of that considering certain communications and ensuing attempts at mutual distraction. Really now. Are they certain they are enemies?
garantundkraft: (Was hab ich dir getan?)

Wow, it's a good thing England didn't voice those thoughts aloud, then. Otherwise Prussia would be storming off, extremely pissed. He's a soldier, not a monster.

"Ooooh..." He leans over to peer at the map and the instructions. "A foot in size... Holy shit, gems come that big?! Can we take some for ourselves too or what?" Whilst he doesn't quite have England's pirate hoarding tendencies, Prussia can certainly see the value in keeping gems around. He may or may not have a small stash from the ones his roommate occasionally leaves laying around the apartment...

And yes, he totally heard that we.
garantundkraft: (Siehst du mich?)

i know that icon is supposed to be serious but it always makes me laugh...

"Wunderbar." Oh, a few gems will definitely finance his plans nicely. He likely has the very same look of avarice crossing his face that England does at such thoughts. Truly, today is going far better than expected. Prussia rubs his hands together in anticipation. "Alright! Lead the way!"

When they meet the gnomes, it is probably for the best that they need to depart to complete their quest quickly. As it is, Prussia is already greatly amused by how short they are, and had he been left to his own devices he may have inadvertently caused an international -interdimensional?- incident. So it is an amused Prussia who dons his hardhat to approach the caves with England.

"Uh, nope. Brandenburg was the guy with mines. Not me, until I was way too busy and important to worry about that shit." Prussia shoulders his pickaxe, staring at the mouth of the cave. "So... Got a torch?" Or some other light source. One of those glowy light balls would be awesome, actually. No need to carry it!
garantundkraft: (Weißt nicht woher du kommst)

[personal profile] garantundkraft 2012-09-10 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Prussia gives England a blank look before removing the hat, intent to prove him wrong. Except. There's a light attached to it. So with a huff he turns it on before jamming the hat back on his head. "What did I say about mining, asshole?" The insult is good-natured. He's embarrassed, yes, but hardly mad at England.

With back straight, he marches himself into the cave. It'll be a wonder he doesn't run into any thing if he keeps that up. "So does it gotta be a specific type of gem or can it be anything as long as it's big?"
garantundkraft: (Ich war ich bin ich werde der sein)

[personal profile] garantundkraft 2012-09-10 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay then! We'll find the most awesome gem ever!" Prussia grins triumphantly before turning back to the tunnels stretching out from the main entrance. After some thought, he heads towards the largest one. To him it makes sense. If the gnomes are small then they'd definitely take advantage of that to go where other races couldn't. So why contort himself to go through a smaller passageway that might be well picked over by now.

"It can't be that hard, right?"

In any other log, those might be famous last words. However, the narration is confident in their eventual success.

Prussia is, as always, supremely confident in his ability to complete the task at hand. In fact, he is bordering on overconfidence, because he sees no way this could go wrong. He leads the way boldly, already planning what he could do with the money from the gems he'll find. A new sword... bullets, perhaps, if he can find a chemist and someone capable of fine metalcraft... Ah, he'll unearth the most expensive of jewels! "Kesese! That won't be a problem at all! I can dig up all the gems; just watch!"

Of course, he will need to rely on that sense for shiny England has. "I know! Why don't you do a magic thing to find the best jewels for us?" Does magic even do that? That would be awesome and profitable if it did!
garantundkraft: (Weißt nicht woher du kommst)

but magic '^'

[personal profile] garantundkraft 2012-09-12 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well that's useless." Why would you even study magic if you can't do anything awesome with it like make your life easier or fling people around. Actually, he's not even mentally complaining too loud about that last one, because he got thrown around one time too many when they fought.

Prussia sneezes. This is so boring already. Why did he agree to come along? Oh right, someone said it was the best quest ever. "Ennnnglaaaannnnd..."
