Ooh shiny! [COMPLETE]
Characters: England, Prussia
Date: September 8
Format: Prose
Content Warnings: most likely swearing, also Prussia in a dress.
Summary: England plans on going on a quest to find a gem, since he is a pirate. Prussia invites himself along. They can't stay away from each other, apparently, even though they are enemies. 8I
True to his own determination, England had decided to take on a quest in hopes of raising some money to have his own apartment. It was not that he disliked his roommates, but they were both girls. Besides, England preferred to live alone. Living in such close quarters with two girls made him uncomfortable.
Of course, there were other reasons why he wanted to get his own place, but he felt that he'd keep those a secret. Even he was disappointed in himself for those reasons.
In any case, he was signed up to find a gem in the gnome district. It was part of some wedding ritual, but the best part was that he would get a gem of his own, and he wanted it, regardless of how much it was worth. He could not escape his pirate lust for treasure, so having a gemstone would make him feel happy. He wondered where he would hoard it...
England began his journey to the Gnomish District. He had to go quite a ways, through the upper class neighborhood. That would be alright. He could scope out the area, see if he could find any of the government officials to talk to. He was pretty excited about this quest. He hoped it went smoothly. Now that his injuries were pretty much healed, he didn't think he'd have too much of a problem.
Ah, delicious treasure!

i know that icon is supposed to be serious but it always makes me laugh...
it's not supposed to be serious. at all. so laugh away!
At last, the caves and rubble of the Gnomish District were seen. England went to check in with the man who wrote the quest, Herrisgeld, and he pointed them in the direction of a few caves that possibly held gems. They were also given miners hats, pickaxes, and other various tools they would need. At last, England and Prussia were off to the caves.
"Have you ever been mining before?" he asked Prussia as they approached the cave.

"Uh, nope. Brandenburg was the guy with mines. Not me, until I was way too busy and important to worry about that shit." Prussia shoulders his pickaxe, staring at the mouth of the cave. "So... Got a torch?" Or some other light source. One of those glowy light balls would be awesome, actually. No need to carry it!

At his question, England turns to throw Prussia an amused grin. He taps his hat with the pickaxe. "There's a light attached to your hat, idiot. Didn't you see it?" Sometimes Prussia was too cute. Most of the times he was annoying.

With back straight, he marches himself into the cave. It'll be a wonder he doesn't run into any thing if he keeps that up. "So does it gotta be a specific type of gem or can it be anything as long as it's big?"
no subject
"There are no specifics," he says, looking at the note once more before putting it back into his pocket. "So as long as it's a foot high and we can pull it out without breaking any walls, it's up to us." England had never mined before, either. He'd been in mines and watched other people work, but he didn't really have the great upper body strength to do it himself. It was a shame Germany and America weren't here, not that Germany would help anyway. Though since this would benefit him, he had to give it a try. He was still stronger than humans, after all.
