Characters: Shiki Ryougi and YOU! (i.e. open log)
Date: September 17th
Format: Preferably action spam, but I'll match what you tag with!
Content Warnings: Possible vague references to some gorey acts, but other than that nothing.
Summary: Even without any desire to do anything or even live, Shiki can't really stay in one place forever.
[It's a bright, sunny day when Shiki finally steps out her assigned room and into the actual city. She'd spent the last while trying to get used to walking around without her sight in her room, but frankly, there were some things she needed that she just couldn't get in that place.
Like a decent kimono for one. You'd have to be crazy to think she'd keep wearing the hospital given one. Of course, the only problem was... y'know, getting to an actual store. Rather than wander aimlessly about, Shiki decided to take a seat at whatever sort of seating area was close by. She listens for footsteps and when people pass by. When it sounds like someone's close enough...]
Hey. You over there. [Yep, the girl with bandages wrapped around her eyes is calling out to you. Nothing strange about this at all.]

[He fidgets with it, practically a nervous wreck. Whatever sort of courage that was moving his young bones was clearly working, if only at the bare minimum.]
Urgh! There! [It's in place and he sets it down and winds it up.]
[The dark ring is almost upon them when it goes off like a flash grenade, but with immense light as the catalyst. Various lights dance around much like a disco ball. So bright was it, that no hand in front of face could block it all and still be able to see. That is, unless one was wearing sunglasses or a blindfold.]
[There's a tug at Shiki's sleeve.]

[The rather hurried walk became a run as suddenly as it should be allowed.
The store was reached in less than five minutes. Edd has since collapsed onto the same, warm, yet rather worn welcome mat.] O accursed universe...why must you test us so?...

Are you really that tired already?

[A shivering arm reaches forward to nothing in particular.] I'm afraid my predilection towards bettering my mind...uhm....tends to leave my body in a worse shape.
[He sure can run, though!}
Nonetheless, we have...huff huff....made it to our destination! And unharmed! Quite an achievement, really, when consider the....alternatives...

... thanks for getting me here though.

[His attention focuses inward as he dusts himself.] Messy messy messy...now, let's see....[His attention completely and irreverently redirects itself to a map Edd has pulled from his rumpled pocket. It's a bit bent out of shape but otherwise works.]

What were those things that tried to corner us?

Those were the denizens of this place, of Darstone. Well, I mean, they are 'from' this world in the sense it is where they came from. But Darstone residents, they aren't.
If I were to summarize this nuisance into smaller words, I would say that they aren't quite fans of us beings. Dragged from our regular--if just familiar--little worlds, they are the sworn enemies of everyone, even the true residents of this place. A small gang problem with big consequences, I might add.

*Sigh*...
My blood pressure has seemed a tad tried in these recent times.
