Ooh shiny! [COMPLETE]

Characters: England, Prussia
Date: September 8
Format: Prose
Content Warnings: most likely swearing, also Prussia in a dress.
Summary: England plans on going on a quest to find a gem, since he is a pirate. Prussia invites himself along. They can't stay away from each other, apparently, even though they are enemies. 8I

True to his own determination, England had decided to take on a quest in hopes of raising some money to have his own apartment. It was not that he disliked his roommates, but they were both girls. Besides, England preferred to live alone. Living in such close quarters with two girls made him uncomfortable.

Of course, there were other reasons why he wanted to get his own place, but he felt that he'd keep those a secret. Even he was disappointed in himself for those reasons.

In any case, he was signed up to find a gem in the gnome district. It was part of some wedding ritual, but the best part was that he would get a gem of his own, and he wanted it, regardless of how much it was worth. He could not escape his pirate lust for treasure, so having a gemstone would make him feel happy. He wondered where he would hoard it...

England began his journey to the Gnomish District. He had to go quite a ways, through the upper class neighborhood. That would be alright. He could scope out the area, see if he could find any of the government officials to talk to. He was pretty excited about this quest. He hoped it went smoothly. Now that his injuries were pretty much healed, he didn't think he'd have too much of a problem.

Ah, delicious treasure!

"This stupid rock moved when I went to lean on it!" he whinges, sitting up. His ribs are fine, thank you, but his pride is severely damaged. With a huff, he looks away... and right into that crevice. Huh. It seems as though there's some light on the other side of it.

"...I'll be back." He pushes himself to his feet and disappears into the opening.

The passage is a bit longer, and in some places narrower, than he expected. Apparently the light he saw was reflected and refracted by tiny gemstones embedded in the walls. However, it grows brighter, more glowing and gently tinted, until he finds himself in a spot that he is just a bit too wide to fit through. But what he can see on the other side...

He does gasp.

"England, please tell me if nothing else you can magic some of this fucking rock out of the way."

As much as Prussia would like to forge on ahead, he stays where he is as England leans against him. It wouldn't be awesome or even amusing to just step forward and let him drop, especially after that sort of display. "Hey, Schätzchen. Look up."

Before them, with the rock on the other side out of the way, is a cavern glimmering with exposed gemstones and crystal formations. Many of the crystals are easily twice Prussia's size. The gems seem to be nothing to shake a stick at either; their exposed surfaces notably larger than many of the gems they had found in the cavern they came from.

Far above them is a hole that allows light in, though whether it's from the actual surface of this world or merely from the city Prussia doesn't know. Nor does he care because the view before him is absolutely breathtaking regardless.

He resists the urge to make a tasteless joke aloud, thankfully, though he still privately grouses about how he needs to do a lot more than just be there to make England gasp like that. "So, you wanna head in there, or is it just me?" If Prussia has to, he will happily carry England in. Bridal style, of course, for maximum embarrassment.

Though he'd have to draw the line if England seriously suggested moving in down here. Where are the amenities? The comfortable beds? The indoor plumbing?!
